OSI Network Information Program - Administrative Assistant (Part Time Position)
The Open Society Institute (OSI), a private operating and grant making foundation, aims to shape public policy to promote democratic governance, human rights, and economic, legal, and social reform. On a local level, OSI implements a range of initiatives to support the rule of law, education, public health, and independent media. At the same time, OSI works to build alliances across borders and continents on issues such as combating corruption and rights abuses.
Reports to: Deputy Program Director
General Description of Duties: Assists the Deputy Program Director in administrative, financial and office management tasks. This position is for 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance in processing of grants: collecting data from grantees, reviewing submitted budgets, requesting payments, etc. - 40% of time
- Provides assistance in monitoring grant reports - 40% of time
- Provides administrative assistances by performing tasks such as scanning, photocopying, mailing, filing, (paper and electronic) and archiving - 10% of time
- Processes staff VISA card statements, cash expenses and phone bills - 5% of time
- Provides ad-hoc logistical assistance such as meeting logistics, hotel reservations, arranging invitations - 5% of time
Required Skills
- At least two years administrative experience
- High School Degree
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
- Office and project administration experience
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and Hungarian
- Excellent organizational skills
- Reliable and flexible self-starter
- Familiarity with computers and databases; Microsoft applications
- Team player
